About Don Campbell

I'm a father, husband, son, brother, friend, and hopefully an all-around good guy. I have many areas of interest, from sports to photography to technology to public speaking, and on a good day would actually consider myself somewhat proficient at them. I also have a bit of a warped sense of humor. I think a sharp wit is a sign of intelligence. Others agree, but wonder when I'm going to sharpen mine.

For 25 years I worked at the largest software company in Canada (Cognos), and one of the largest technology companies on the planet (IBM), in the role of Chief Technology Officer. I'm retired now, but own my own business so I will always be involved in technology, as it is my passion. I love to help out businesses as an advisor or Board member, and emcee or speak at events about the role that technology plays in business and the world. Let me know if I can help you.

I live in Ottawa, Canada, which is a lovely place to live...if you like all four seasons. If you prefer warm, sunny beaches to knee deep snow and freezing temperatures, then please plan your visits during the Summer. And while you're at it, please vote YES to global warming! We have a lovely Tulip Festival each Spring, courtesy of Canada's relationship with the Netherlands. Perhaps that time would work nicely too.

My family keeps me sane. Well, either that, or they make me so insane I've totally lost track of reality. Either way, I don't know what I'd do without them. Between them and my several hobbies (one of which is this site), I don't get much time for trivial things like sleep. As a result, I'm always happy to engage with you.
